Welcome Message

With strong support and cooperation from individuals and organizations in both Japan and overseas, once again, this year, it is my pleasure to announce the staging of the Global IPv6 Summit in Japan.

The past twelve months have seen the start of regular IPv6 ADSL service to the home, a representation of the beginning of general, widespread deployment of IPv6. This backdrop provides a great opportunity to look back on past discussion, at the same time taking an even stronger stance in looking toward the future of IPv6.

With the efforts of the Steering Committee and the various support organizations around it, we have assembled a program featuring detailed content from both Japan and abroad. I am very happy to welcome the direct contributions of a number of individuals bearing direct responsibility for the future of IPv6.

I invite all those active in the IPv6 field to Yokohama once again to participate in the staging of what I believe will be a highly meaningful Summit.
