The Cisco IPv6 Solution
Following
the official introduction of basic IPv6 functionality for IOS routers, Cisco Systems
is pleased to announce support for IPv6 in a distribution-type layer 3 switching
solution (dCEF) designed to provide high-performance forwarding capabilities for
Cisco 12000 high-end router series, with the ultimate goal of building a large-scale
IPv6 backbone network.
Cisco Systems is also scheduled to expand 6PE functionality and routing protocols,
such as OSPFv3, to target the realization of IPv6 transport by implementing MPLS
in the backbone, while preparing to provide MIB functionality for management and
control of IPv6 networks on a step-by-step basis.
Additionally, Cisco Systems intend to proceed with development for implementing
IPv6 support in L3 switch products and for implementing hardware-based IPv6 high-speed
forwarding. These tasks represent some of our efforts to offer optimal products
on a timely basis as we build toward full-fledged IPv6-compliant networks. |

Foundry Networks |
Foundry
Networks (NASDAQ: FDRY) is a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end
switching and routing, offering NetIron? Internet routers for the Internet core
and edge, FastIron? Layer 2/3 LAN and MAN switches, BigIron? Layer 3 backbone
switches, and ServerIron? Layer 4-7 Web switches for Internet traffic and content
management.
Foundry will deliver a multi-phased approach for IPv6 solutions including full
IPv6 protocol routing support in software, followed by hardware acceleration on
its BigIron series Layer 2/3 switches and NetIron series Internet routers product
families.
These high performance products provide reliable IP routing functions and boast
cutting-edge functions such as a packet over SONET, ATM, diverse Ethernet solutions,
and MPLS.
As Foundry products continue to contribute to the development of broadband by
supporting networking applications for ISPs, Enterprises, and data centers, Foundry
continues to persevere with the challenge of making network infrastructures more
flexible and reliable. |

Fujitsu, Ltd. |
Fujitsu
delivers IPv6 Solution (products, integration, application and services) for broadband
networks. Fujitsu currently supports IPv6 in the highly reliable IP switching
node GeoStream R900 series, the IP access router GeoStream Si-R
series, and the Unix server PRIMEPOWER series.
Also, we are going to deliver IPv6 supporting FENICS and @nifty
services.

Fujitsu exhibits GeoStream Si-R series at this conference including:
|
Si-R130:ISDN/dedicated lines/frame relay supporting model |
|
Si-R150: Broadband services (ADSL, CATV, FTTH and others) supporting
dual Ethernet model |
|
Si-R300:100BASE-FX or ISDN PRI supporting high performance model |

Hitachi, Ltd. |
Considering
that IPv6 will be a key technology in the age of broadband, Hitachi has been participating
in various research, development, and marketing activities from the earliest stages
of the technology. Based on its long history of accomplishments, Hitachi offers
a vast range of products and solutions to meet marketing needs. |
GR2000 Gigabit Router Series
|
Small to large models are operationally and functionally
unified by a single architecture. |
|
Using the ASIC we originally developed, the GR2000
realizes high-speed packet forwarding of dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 and high-quality
QoS control. |
|
It supports OSPFv3 as well as RIPng and BGP4+. |
|
It has been introduced at many carriers, ISPs, industries,
and research centers both at home and abroad. |

"JP1 Version 6i", Integrated System Operation Management
Software
|
It gathers IPv6 management information from network
devices and automatically displays it on a configuration management screen. |
|
It enables management of defects and capabilities. |
|
It enables the integrated management of a network
environment, which allows IPv4 and IPv6 to coexist. |
|
It adds the function of IPv6 network management
without changing the network environment of the existing IPv4 network management. |

Juniper Networks K.K. |
Introducing M-Series Internet Backbone Router
The
Juniper Networks M-series Internet backbone routers are purpose-built to meet
the unique challenges of the new IP infrastructure. These routers are used in
critical applications, such as core routing, dedicated access, peering, and data
center hosting by the world's largest service providers.
They share common JUNOS Internet software, features, and technology for full compatibility
across all platforms. All platforms support the Internet Processor II ASIC, delivering
predictable performance with rich packet processing, such as filtering, class
of service, policing, class-based forwarding, rate limiting, and sampling, even
during adverse network conditions. By supporting IPv6, Multiprotocol Label Switching
(MPLS) etc., they offer a rich set of tools both for traffic engineering and for
leveraging a common IP infrastructure for public and private services.
